FIRE PUMP CONTROL PANEL
1. General Requirements
Application: Automatic/manual starting and stopping of fire pumps as per standard sequences and interlocks
Panel Type: Electric motor-driven / Diesel engine-driven / Jockey / Main pump controller
2. Electrical Specifications
Input Voltage: 3-phase, 380–480V ±10%, 50 Hz
Motor Starting Methods:
- Across-the-line (DOL)
- Star-delta
Control Power: Direct 3 phase AC power input via control breaker
3. Control and Indications
Start/Stop Operation:
- Automatic via pressure switches
- Manual via pushbutton
- Remote start from fire alarm system (FAS) or Building Management System (BMS) as per requirement
Meters: Digital VAF Meter
4. Protection Features
- Short circuit protection (circuit breaker or fuses)
- Phase failure/imbalance protection
- Overload protection (alarm only – per NFPA 20, tripping is not allowed to stop the pump) as per requirement
5. Construction
Enclosure: Sheet steel, epoxy-coated / powder-coated
Wiring: Neatly labeled, ferruled wires with terminal strips

6. Diesel Pump Controller
- Battery monitoring and charging circuits
- 3 attempt Engine cranking circuits (automatic and manual)
